Hi!  My name is Ellen and my biggest accomplishment in life was becoming a MOM and having the pleasure of raising my two beautiful daughters.  I had the opportunity of working from home and I quite enjoyed being a stay at home mom.  ~This also meant there were expectations when hungry children returned from school.

My Mom was also a stay at home mom and she always had her meals ready when we returned after school. While this was a perk, it also had its downfall – meals were made before we arrived.  Not much of an opportunity to learn how to cook prior to getting married and moving out on my own.  And it showed.

In the early days of our marriage, I had offered to make breakfast.  That was the extent of my talent.  I knew I had to do something when my husband requested a soft-boiled egg and got the opposite.  Who knew soft-boiled eggs only took a few minutes to cook?  Lessons were a must.

Fortunately, we had the opportunity to move close to my parents' home and I was able to squeeze in the cooking lessons and I picked up numerous tips from my Mom before she passed away.  I also received great cooking tips and ideas from my Mother-In-Law who lives on the other side of the ocean and was able to get a variety of recipes from the “experts.”

With two personal recipe books in my possession, why not share them. I dedicate these tips and ideas to two very special ladies—my way to have their expertise live in the homes of others.
